Its pretty good...The images that I took are sharp...this Lens is very wide. GOod for landscape as well as some daily portrait...
It's a great len with nice shots. However, a little bit heavy to carry with big size. Reasonable for its cost.
This is a great lens for those on a budget who don't want to pay the big bucks for an 'L' series Canon lens. The f2.8 is great for low light conditions and the image quality is reasonably sharp. The auto focus is a bit noisy but it still works fine and has no problems focusing in bright conditions. The size of the lens is also great for those who don't like big heavy lenses. The lens hood fits nicely over the lens in storage and the squeeze lens cap is great. If you are a Pro and want pro results, go for L series Canons, they are the best on the market. If you are an amateur who wants good results, this lens is a better option than the standard Canon consumer lenses.
The product is great because it has a very wide aperture for a zoom lens, without breaking the budget! It's also a constant f/2.8, so you have great aperture even when fully zoomed in. However, unless you have a focus motor in your camera (the D3100, D5100 and their successors do not), you cannot use autofocus on the lens. It doesn't have an autofocus motor built in.
Got this lens since my only other was a Canon 50mm f/2.8. Great lens, from club shots to car photos. Very happy and just as good as Canon, just alot cheaper! Well designed, great feel.
