I had heard Rasmus singles so i bought the album and it is a great i would recomend it, Rasmus formed the band in 1995 while still in high school, their debut album Peep went gold in their homeland making the members rock stars at the age of 16, in 2003 Dead Letters climbed to number one in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with hits like "In the Shadows" and "First day of my life", the Lyrics to the songs are great.
I had been listening to the single "In The Shadows" for years & years, I just love that song. Recently I became curious about the dark image of Lauri the singer, lyrics & video so I decided to listen to more songs online and do some research about the meaning of the songs & videos. I fell in love with loads of songs, I love the music, lyrics, interpretations and meanings. It just speaks to me and I can relate to them in some personal experiences. I bought 4 of their albums straight away. I love most of the songs on the album Dead Letters, some sound a bit more "teenagerish" than others and I like those less probably because I am in my mid 30's.
There first album to hit uk shores, what an impression to make! The finnish rockers came to the uk with all the reviews from europe being good. With many number 1's and various mtv and music awards it would have been hard fro the Rasmus to bomb in the uk. There first tour was a sell out and the album proved equally as good. With a range of songs all under the title of "dead letters" Lauri describes them each as letters to people. A dead letter is a letter that is sent, the adress is unknowen and when an attempt is made to return the letter it fails. This is how you get to "dead letter" - it has no where to be sent to or returned. Great album from the band and the follow up was just as good. Keep it up guys!
I had only heard one rasmus song before buying this cd, so didnt know how good it would be.Anyone who likes any kind of rock music needs to buy this cd. Every song on it is amazing.I am now hoping they will return to the UK for another tour so i can get to see them live. EVERYBODY NEEDS TO HEAR THE RASMUS AND JUST APPRECIATE HOW GOOD THEY ARE!!
Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.
