Author Biography
Probation officer Pauline Hayton emigrated from England to the United States in 1991 with her husband Peter. They live in Naples, Florida and are the willing slaves of four previously homeless, starving cats that adopted them. After listening to her father's war stories and reading his tattered wartime diaries, she wrote her first book, A Corporal's War about his WWII adventures as a Royal Engineer in the British army. While researching A Corporal's War, she stumbled upon Ursula Graham Bower's story and knew instantly that she would write a book about this extraordinary woman. Naga Queen was the result. This book changed the author's life when she became friends with Ursula's daughter, which led to Pauline and her husband becoming involved with the Naga tribes of NE India. In January 2006, having twice survived cancer, the author went to Myanmar (Burma) to follow in her father's WWII footsteps. Myanmar in my Father's Footsteps: A Journey of Rebirth and Remembrance is a travelogue of her travels. In 2012, Hayton published Chasing Brenda, a comedy/adventure story based on a 2011 visit she made to Nagaland, in NE India.
