Over 66 million women, men and children in thirty-six countries in sub-Saharan Africa suffer from Human African Trypanosomiasis (HAT), and has little or no hope as to treatment due to lack or unavailability of drugs. Hence, the quest for this piece as a lead to the discovery of solution(s) to this ravaging, zonotic disease. There are drugs, which possibly lost potency over time due to the development of adaptive features by the parasite in order to withstand the drug. Therefore, the necessity and usefulness of this piece for the development of new and effective drugs.
