Author Biography
The greatest movies that I have seen are the ones who's subject matter is an autobiography where, against all odds, the person being portrayed, and the horror of their lives, still could not deter the person from reaching their goals. This book is one of those stories. What you will read is about a contest between a hard headed, good hearted boy, and a religious fanatic, who was also an alcoholic who had mental illness. As I grew up to be what he had wanted for himself, rather than encouraging and supporting me, he wanted to kill me. Sure enough at five years old, I wanted to kill him too. This happened in the 1950's, when the man of the house could be a monster, and get away with it. This story is about mental and emotional abuse. It is about how I never let him win, and the horrendous price I had to pay, to never give in. It is the beginning, the end would come in 1991, when I had the moment to watch him die. I cried for the things that we could have done together, and I cried because it was finally over. This is Book I, and I had a lot more suffering that was going to come, and learning to realize how much you could hate, and forgive. Death is the equalizer. That this story will show you how much, is just the beginning.
