Excerpt from Special Laws of the Tenth Legislature of the State of Texas Sec. 21. That all real estate, which may be sold by, or under the direction of the corporate authorities of said city, for taxes, or to pay the expenses of draining, and filling up the same, as provided in the eleventh section of this act, may be redeemed at any time within two years from the date of sale, by the proprietor, his heirs, executors or administrators, paying to the purchaser thereof, his representatives or assigns, or depositing with the Assessor and Collector, for his or their benefit, double the amount of the purchase money and of the taxes which he, or they, may have subsequently paid thereon; r shall any title issue to said purchaser before the expiration of said two years.
