The chemical and physical properties of the latex and rubber, including the production of synthetic caoutchouc, are fully discussed. Chapters have also been included on the chemical analysis and phys ical testing of rubber and its compounds and the various theories of vulcanization. While the attempt has been made to present the technical fea tures of the subject in a scientific manner so that the volume will be of value to students of this subject, it is believed that a large part of the volume will be of interest to the n-technical reader.
