Author Biography
Vivian French is a professional story-teller as well as an acclaimed children's author. Her many picture books include Lazy Jack; Once Upon a Time; Once Upon a Picnic; Please, Princess Primrose; A Song for Little Toad (shortlisted for the Smarties Book Prize); A Christmas Star Called Hannah and a retelling of A Christmas Carol. She is also the author of the Read and Wonder non-fiction picture books Caterpillar Caterpillar (shortlisted for the Kurt Maschler Award), The Apple Trees; Spider Watching and Growing Frogs. She has written three collections - Under the Moon; The Thistle Princess and Other Stories and The Boy Who Walked on Water - tales from which are all included in her anthology Singing to the Sun. Vivian French lives in Edinburgh and Bristol. Dana Kubick was raised in New York, but moved to England in 1972. She studied at the New York School of Visual Arts and has designed many well-known greeting cards, collectable porcelain mugs and plates, and even teddy bear-shaped ice cream wafers! She says of To Mum, With Love. I fell in love with Stanley and felt considerable sympathy for the little guy. He tries so hard but things don't always go right for him. Fortunately, his imagination saves the day. Dana lives in London.
