Author Biography
I am a college graduate, having received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Mississippi in 1961. I also hold a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the Jackson School of Law, received in January 1971. I was admitted to the State of Mississippi Bar in April 1971. Before entering the practice of law, I was employed by the Board of Water Commissioners of the State of Mississippi. I held the position of Staff Assistant and later, Resource Planner, charged to develop a statewide water and related land resource plan in co-ordination with the USGS the MSGS and Mississippi Water Districts. During my law practice of twenty-six years I was admitted to practice before the Mississippi Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. I held various positions throughout my practice, including City Judge for the City of Pascagoula, Mississippi, Jackson County Public Defender and Master in Chancery My legal training and the practice of law required the preparation of documents, pleadings, briefs, opinions and various other legal forms. I believe that the development of those writing and composition skills over twenty-six years prepared me well for the authoring of literary works. I am the author of two novels. The first, Two Lives One Life, is a work of Fiction and now my second book, My Uncle Pat, is a work of fiction based on my real Uncle. The story is presented in the humorous vein highlighting his bizarre behavior and funny approach to all that life presented him.
