I bought the Synology to replace an older Seagate NAS, and I'm very impressed with the useability and features the Synology offers, and also with the performance. The web interface is identical to a typical desktop with icons for various apps and is very easy to use with almost no learning curve - if you can use a pc or tablet you'll be right at home with the Synology. There's a good range of applications - file manager, storage manager, download manager, media servers - and they're all easy to use, and the Synology has an excellent help system. I'm very impressed with the performance (file transfer speed) which is excellent (way above the Seagate I had previously), and around the maximum that can be achieved on a gigagit network. The file download, VPN and PTP features are excellent and work well. All in all, an excellent product with lots of features and performance, very easy to use and very reasonably priced. The EX7000 AC1900 is an excellent wifi extender. No need for complicated setup config like you find in routers. It has 3 antennas that work and has good range. It also has a number of cat 5 ports to be used as a switch. It can take input from a cat 5 cable or wifi which gives it a lot of flexibility. This is my second purchase as unfortunately the first one only lasted 2 years
