In John Lennon’s last interview recorded on the day he died He referred to BBC recordings that he bought on bootleg and thought that was some exciting stuff there and they should get out and people should hear them. The first double desk said was a huge hit selling about 5 million copies -we’ve had to wait many years for a second set .Cleaned by George Martin this triple LP offering is even much more fun as tracks are set in a better running order and the sound upgraded — an astonishing feat when you consider the tapes were left to collect dust in a cupboard. It contains dozens of never before released titles as well as versions of hit singles. These were the days when groups went into the BBC and although they didn’t play “live” on the show.. the FAB FOUR played live pre recorded performances to be be played unique to the BBC . Its live Beatles without the screams. Its worth buying on vinyl for the nostalgia of the cover as well as the music! Read full review
