The setting for Times Of Plums is a college campus in 1971. Carlo Cappogia, 'Yago' to his friends, returns to finish his senior year after a one-year suspension for leading the takeover of the Administration building. He finds that things have changed, values shifted. It is the cusp of a different era, where idealism is being replaced by pragmatism. This is never more clear than in the build-up to the climatic anti-war march in San Francisco. This vel about the end of the sixties captures the speech and sense of urgency, that mix of depth and silliness, the quotidian hippity-hop which characterized that distinctive time in American history.
The author was born, raised and educated in Los Angeles, California. He and his wife moved to Valencia, Spain, with their eighteen-month old daughter, and have lived there for the last eighteen years.
