Author Biography
Mattesa Goodrum Powell is a native of Macon, Georgia. She is the fifth child of six children. She's the mother of two sons, Charles and Matthew. She started writing at age 5 years old. She would write poems for her mother, Naomi and leave them on her bed to read later. With each poem, a big bright smile would lighten her mother's face. That's when she told Mattesa to never stop writing no matter what. It could only get better. Mattesa has three inspirations: her mother, her sons, and her disability. Her sons have motivated her to want to leave a legacy, that will last for generations. Being legally blind, she's overcome many obstacles and had to re-train herself to live in the sighted world. Writing is her therapy. It has helped her to grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. She hopes to convert all her books to braille or audio for all to enjoy. Her first story was a children's book called The Adventure's of Chuck the Dinosaur. Her oldest son, Charles, loved dinosaurs as a child. She patterns the character after him because he would get into so many mishaps and would cleverly find a way out of them. She has written over 40 children stories before she started developing her adult characters. Love's Maze, is the first of a five book series entitled the The Pheromone Sisters.
