Rather than going to cut down a tree in your backyard, you can find pre cut pieces of timber in whatever size you need. The world is your oyster when it comes to what you can make out of wood.
What Kind of Wood Materials Can I Find?
Different wood materials are suitable for different craft projects. You can choose from the following:
- Offcuts: You can use wood offcuts for so many fun projects including plant boxes, picture frames, a garden bench, wine bottle holder, a bookshelf or wall decor. When you purchase the offcuts, you can sand, varnish or paint to get your desired finish.
- Slabs: If you are making a new dining table, coffee table or hall table, you will need a wood slab for the top. Slabs can also go into benchtops, bedroom furniture or to make desks. Naturally cut slabs from a tree trunk make interesting coffee tables as they have a unique shape.
- Blocks: Wooden blocks can become musical instruments, kids' toys, bookends or other craft projects.
