Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Best Selling in Projector Screens
First of all, I know it's a cheap projector. I know it's not gonna be ridiculously quiet, slimline, whatever else. I came to terms with that before buying. The image quality is good, at 100" I can hardly see the individual pixels (unlike lower native resolution projectors like the Excel an EHD09). The two HDMI inputs are super useful and convenient (no switching cables) and the image clarity is insane given the price point. At first I thought I couldn't connect external speakers which was a breaking point for the product since the built-in speaker is quite poor (on level with a mobile speaker) but then I got an RCA-to-stereo adapter for the red/white RCA output to connect to a sound system, so it checked that box, albeit only just. Then I turned it on, it whirred to life and I thought it's like most products where the fans run at full for a short while then turn down, and adjust themselves as they need to. I was wrong. They seem to have two settings - off, and full power. Not so much an issue if you're sitting far enough away from it, but for a small room it can be quite off-putting, especially during quiet scenes. The unit is VERY large, much larger than most models. Again, it's a 5000 lumen projector so as much is to be expected. It's got large, good quality rubber feet that hold it very sturdy, and a long screw to adjust the pitch. It has no 1/4" tripod hole, but it's too large to sit on a tripod alone. I managed to pick up a cheap tripod tray to suit a 15" laptop and it does the trick beautifully to prop it up out of the way. The power cable I wish was about 3 feet longer, but it takes a standard 3-pin power plug, so any after market one should work fine (so long as it matches the same power rating, obviously don't use one with an upper limit of 110vac if your outlets are higher). The remote is amazing, and I mean that. So long as it's in the same room I could point it literally anywhere (so long as it wasn't overly obstructed from the projector) and it picked it up 100% of the time. Great for if you sit in front of where the projector is mounted, as the IR receiver is on the back of the unit and intuitively wouldn't work well. The dual USB ports are great for charging phones or powering my Chromecast, which also works well with the projector as it support HDMI-CEC. The Keystone works well and as long as you aren't adjusting it to maximum +-15° there is minimal focus loss, although some warping may appear in the corners (more of a vignette). The more level it is the better for your focus. On the topic of focus, the manual focus works well too, and since it is such a huge lens that you're rotating, it's very precise and easy to split vertical focus differences if need be. The included VGA cable is redundant for me as my laptop has no VGA output, as are the RCA cables, but for somebody connecting a small, cheap or old DVD player or games console they're a godsend as you don't need to buy A-D converters to use the HDMI. I've already mentioned how incredibly useful the RCA audio output is though. The lens cap is made of soft rubber, not plastic, and is very easy to fit and remove, and doesn't fall off easily if the lense is adjusted all the way in for transport. Aesthetically it's quite pleasing, as it has a nice design on the front and is a good modular body design. Pros: Good picture quality and brightness Sturdy Remote works very well Multitude of input ports Cons: A little bulky for tight spaces Loud fans Short power cable Lack of native 3.5mm audio jackRead full review
