No problems with Core 2 Duo E8600 or Core 2 Quad Q9650 processors. Its RAM limit is 4GB (2x 2GB sticks). Had no issue using it with Win98SE, Win2k, WinXP, or Win7. For Win98SE, set the "CPU Multi-Threading" option to DISABLED in the BIOS. So it only uses one core. You don't need to do this with newer Windows versions. As well, you're going to need third-party and unofficial drivers/patches for Win98SE due to the age of the operating system. (For the other versions of Windows, Gigabyte website has you covered with drivers for Win2K and newer). The integrated graphics is weak, so its best to install a discrete video card (PCI-Express). BIOS update for this motherboard was very easy. (Format USB stick to FAT32, download update from Gigabyte website, copy to stick, use motherboard's BIOS update function. Takes a minute or so.) Overall, this old motherboard was a pleasant to use for a semi-Retro PC gaming system.Read full review
